well round 3 officially starts tomorrow.......wondering what the next 12 weeks will bring.
I am committed to exercising consistently, trying new recipes and having fun.
Last Sunday I went to the first group workout in many, many years and my first ever boxing class....it was awesome!!! I think i have found my new favourite form of exercise..This week i will be heading out to buy some gloves and pads so I can continue this at home.
who says exercise cant be fun?????
if I enjoy what I am doing I will certainly be more inclined to keep it up

City to Surf 2011

well yesterday I completed my first ever city to surf. 14 hilly kilometres later I crossed the finish line, very tired but extremely elated that I had finished!!!!
i actually did it!!! i had been saying for years that I wanted to do this but had to wait to I got fitter, slimmer etc etc blah blah blah..... well this year I JFDI and it felt so good to shove all those excuses away and just get on with it.
yes i am a little slimmer than before...and yes I am a little fitter than before but I am not yet slim and fit but why should that be an excuse to not participate in life???
And what a day it was, lining up at the start was just so amazing, being surrounded by so many people, all with the same aim as myself, to get to the finish line. It is a wonderful trip with lots of fabulous views if you are not travelling so fast that you miss them...lol... no chance of that with me I walked the whole way. but for me the journey is not about how fast you get there, just so long as you are moving in the right direction.
I now have a time to better next year and have got two more fun fun/walks on my calendar for later in the year really looking forward to them. Who would have thought that I would actually look forward to something that involves exercise???

today is the first day of forever

Well round 2 of 12 Week Body Transformation is over and the wait for round 3 has begun.
so far I have shed 13.5 kilos of fat and still need to move more.
but more importantly I have improved my health and added years to my life.
I am no longer afraid to get out and exercise and can even run for the bus if I have to!!!!
yes I still want to eat all those foods that are bad for me, but oh so yummy.
yes there are times that I do not want to get off the couch and go excercise, but then I think back to how I was before I started this journey in February 2011.
i would get breathless just walking to the bus stop, now my average daily walk is 5-8 kilometres.
On Sunday I will be taking part in City to Surf, 14 kilometres and 85000 entrants, it will be amazing to cross the finish line.
